Samantha Reed, B.S.
Neuroscience Graduate Student
I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign where I studied the role of the SHANK family of proteins in learning and development. After graduating, I moved to Madison, Wisconsin and worked as a research technician studying the role of PDZ containing proteins in cell polarity in the developing eye lens. After starting graduate school in the Neuroscience program at Emory, I joined the Escayg Lab where my work aims to understand the role of small extracellular vesicles (exosomes) in epilepsy. Outside of the lab, I enjoy distance running (although I am not very fast), balcony gardening, and exploring all the great restaurants Atlanta has to offer.
